Pastoral Information

Pastor Ken DeWitt

Pastor Ken DeWitt is the newest member in Mt Clinton's pastoral family. Having recently moved into the Valley from the Richmond area, he, his wife Beth and son Brendon are becoming acclimated to country life, buggy and tractor traffic, and Harrisonburg stop-lights.

We are grateful for having been received into such a loving family! Thank you for your many prayers, the many hours spent preparing a wonderful home, and for your many kind gestures. Although we have left behind everything that had become familiar and are strangers in a new town, we already feel like we belong!

Just a little something about our family:

  • Beth and I married on September 9th of 1995.
  • We have a son, Brendon, who is 3 and loves soccer.
  • We have two Labradors, Margaret & Smiley who became a part of our family when we got married.
  • We are both graduates of Longwood University from which I began dating Beth one week before graduation.
  • Beth loves teaching! She has taught either first or second grade for 4 years in private Christian schools.
  • Beth is attending JMU this fall to pursue her MAT.
  • I spent 4 years on Active Duty as an Army Officer, during which time I received God's calling into Ordained Ministry.
  • I spent 3 years at Duke Divinity school to receive a Masters of Divinity and many unique ministry experiences, ranging from leading efforts to rebuilding homes after hurricane Floyd to being an administration for an inter-faith homeless shelter, to hospital chaplaincy.
  • I spent 3 more years at Beulah UMC, in Richmond, as the Associate Pastor. At Beulah, my position wore many hats to include, Minister of Evangelism, Adult Discipleship, Children's Ministries, Christian Educator, Youth Minister, and just Pastor.
  • Beth, Brendon, and I are hoping to be an active part of your family and community for a very long time!

Sincerely, The DeWitts
